26 September 2008: Light Up Dover Feedback
Following a very successful event called Light up Dover which launched the Cultural Olympiad, we have received some great feedback that we would like to share with you.
The following are quotes from members of the public:
What a night, you guys did Dover and East Kent proud, not only was it a great display but very well organised, and the many thousand that attended all enjoyed themselves (I haven’t seen so many faces with smiles on them). Please pass on my congratulations to all the team that organised this project.
Wow! What a show – exceptional, and what a bonus for it to be right on our doorstep.. Well done to all the organisers for a fantastic event.
Some of the other guests said:
What a wonderful and very beautiful launch – I don’t normally like fireworks but loved Friday’s event. Victoria Pomery, Director, Turner Contemporary.
I had a great time last night at a very impressive show. Just what the 2012 Doctor ordered. Thanks for all your hard work, you’ve done the South East proud. Caterina Loriggio, Creative Programmer for London 2012 South East.
Just to say a massive well done for Friday – a really amazing display. It was great to see a huge and happy crowd.. a lovely evening. Sandra Matthews-Marsh, Chief Executive, Visit Kent.
Another outstanding event on Friday in Dover. Clearly a lot of hard work went into the organisation and many people I spoke to were extremely impressed not only with Friday but with the high profile of the Kent 2012 campaign. Danny O’Donovan, Chairman Kent 2012 Schools and young people sectoral task group.
The show was produced by Pippa Bailey, directed by Mike Roberts with firework design by Maria Hingerty and music by Thor McIntyre-Burnie
